The St. Florentina´s Castle is a wonderful place, which is buried in verdure, and looks as if George R. R. Martin described it in his bestselling series “A song of ice and fire”. No wonder that the Castle was chosen as one of the filming locations for the most popular TV series “Game of thrones”. You can enjoy the Castle as Horn Hill during the 6th episode of the 6th season.
Thanks to the efforts of professional decorators, the Castle turned into family estate of the House Tarly within only 9 days. The decorations were incredible and added Gothic style to the Castle.
Many famous and creative people worked in the Castle during 3 days of the shooting process, among them an American television and film director, television producer Jack Bender who was an executive producer and lead director on such famous TV series as “Lost”, “Under the Dome” and “The Sopranos”. Besides, an American screenwriter, television producer and co-creator of Game of Thrones David Benioff worked in the Castle. Such famous and talented actors as James Faulkner (Randyll Tarly), Samantha Spiro (Melessa Tarly), John Bradley-West (Samwell Tarly), Hannah Murray (Gilly), William & James Wilson (Sam) Freddie Stroma (Dickon Tarly), Rebecca Benson (Talla Tarly) created an exciting and creative atmosphere during the shooting. We were happy to have such professional and experienced crew in the St. Florentina’s Castle. In addition, we would like to express our gratitude to the Government of Canet de Mar which cooperated with us and supported the shooting in the Castle.
