The Museum of Art Fakes, almost directly opposite the Hundertwasserhaus, is unique in Europe and probably worldwide. This “criminal” art museum is filled with faked paintings from not only world famous forgers such as Han van Meegeren.

In addition, there are many interesting mystery stories about the forgeries and their forgers. For example, one english master forger hid ‘time-bombs’  in his paintings. Eric Hebborn found eternal peace in a very, very suspicious way, Han van Meegeren having also cheated Hermann Göring in the 2nd World War into buying a fake Vermeer painting, a fake turkey changed the history, meanwhile there exist even "faked" fake paintings and so much more.
