All this less than an hour's drive from La Laguna, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and the island capital, Santa Cruz. Exploring Anaga is a journey to a place that has an authentic rural flavour, a journey back in time to when the relationship between humans and their natural surroundings was much stronger.

A trip to the Anaga laurel forest

An ideal trip through this extensive rural park should include a visit to the visitors centre at Cruz del Carmen, on the TF-1 road. Then a walk along the Vueltas de Taganana pathway to enjoy the lush laurel forest and an historic hamlet, Taganana. To unwind, nothing beats a dip in the sea and a plate of fresh fish at Benijo beach or in the Roque de Las Bodegas. And those wanting to spend the night there have the option of an official hostel, Montes de Anaga, or can choose one of the many rural hotels or bed and breakfasts in the park.
