The historic Part Alta is a maze of narrow, atmospheric streets and squares lined with busy tapas bars, al fresco cafes, and traditional Spanish and Catalan restaurants. At its heart, the hilltop Tarragona Cathedral dates to the 1100s and is home to the Museo Diocesano de Tarragona religious art museum. The Museu d’Art Modern de Tarragona shows works by Joan Miró and Julio Antonio in 3 connected 18th-century houses.
