“Mežasētas” is one of the first deer farms in Latvia, it is located in Rugāju municipality, in the approximate territory of 200 hectares.

 At the moment “Mežasētas” is inhabited by more than 300 animals, bought from all around the world – Poland, Ireland, Holland, Hungary, and Lithuania. All of them are breed animals. Together with deers lives roe deers and wild boars.

Every interested person can visit deer farm, it is perfectly safe, as deer pasture is behind 2,4 meters high fence. In the “Mežasētas” territory 15 sightseeing towers are created, one of them is built on bridge, which connects Rugāji and Gulbene municipalities, over this bridge deers go-to summer grazing, it is a magnificent view.

The farm is located in Rugāju and Gulbenes municipalities, approximately 10 minutes ride from Gulbene city on the asphalted road, only the last three kilometers will go through forest road.
