If you look at the map of Brno with the sights, it is clear that Namesti Svobody is the largest city square. Throughout the entire existence of Brno, it was a place where city life was raging. And now Freedom Square remains the heart of the city, where both locals and visitors love to walk.
Numerous historic buildings remain here. The spectacular but controversial local attraction deserves mention - the house "At the four caryatids", among the townspeople better known as the house "At the four boobies". On the side of the facade of the building, there are four human-sized statues - they should have been majestic, but they do not make such an impression at all. The faces of the sculptures have an expression that usually evokes laughter - this is why the townspeople called them "mamlas" ("boobies"). As in many cities of the Czech Republic, Brno has a Plague Column. Statue of the Virgin Mary placed on top of the column, and statues of saints at its foot.
A rather strange attraction of the city of Brno in the central square in the eastern part of the Czech Republic located. We are talking about an astronomical clock (Orloi), created in 3 years and 12,000,000 CZK from black marble, and performance here in 2010. The watch is a sculpture in the form of a sleeve 6 meters high with four cylindrical holes. You won’t be able to see the time on this watch since it does not show it, and through one of its holes, they “shoot” glass balls every day at the time signature for Brno: 11 am. It is considered a good omen to catch such a bullet, so by 11:00, a real crowd will form in the square.
